Laser Eye Surgery: The Cost of LASIK

What is LASIK?

LASIK is an abbreviation for Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis, a permanent laser eye surgery that corrects visual refractive errors like myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism (blurred vision caused by an imperfection in the eye’s curvature), by reshaping the cornea.

How much does LASIK cost? What about PRK surgery?

LASIK is an elective surgery, so spending money out of pocket isn’t a decision that one comes to lightly.  If you are currently researching LASIK or PRK surgery procedures, you may have noticed that pricing information is missing from many websites. Cost is a significant factor in the decision-making process, usually the number one factor a patient considers before pursuing refractive eye surgery. The reported national range of LASIK prices is from $995 to $2,700 per eye, so what a patient is quoted will vary widely depending on region, specific procedure, patient’s current vision, medical insurance, and technology utilized.

Since 1997, Indiana LASIK Centers has provided patients with freedom from their glasses and contact lenses. When you choose to have LASIK at Indiana LASIK Centers, you can be confident knowing over 200 eye doctors refer their patients to us and our many years of experience have made us one of the leading providers of LASIK surgery in the Midwest.

LASIK and PRK procedures are not covered by insurance due to their being considered  cosmetic procedures. Indiana LASIK Centers wants to ensure that patients who desire to see the world around them without the restrictions of glasses and contact lenses don’t let finances get in the way.  We offer financing for patients who would like to cover the expense of treatment with financial aid. Our practice has teamed with respected healthcare lender CareCredit® to provide interested patients with several low to no-interest monthly payment plan options. The approval process is simple, and using financing can help make the cost of laser eye surgery comfortable for practically anyone’s budget.

Enhancement Fees

After the LASIK or PRK procedure, each patient has a combination of variables that can affect their visual outcome.  In some instances, normally years after your initial procedure, a low percentage of patient’s prescriptions may drift and they may need additional laser eye surgery — often referred to as a LASIK enhancement.  If your initial LASIK surgery was preformed by Indiana LASIK Centers, you are automatically enrolled in our Lifetime LASIK Program.  Under this program, your LASIK enhancement fee will only be $399/eye, or lower, depending on the date of your initial surgery.
